City of San Luis Obispo Awards Contract to Market City-wide Events Promotions Program

SOLVE Agency again chosen as Agency of Record for the City of San Luis Obispo’s SLO Happenings Program following a successful previous year!

San Luis Obispo, CA - SOLVE Agency, a digital experience and marketing agency headquartered in Pismo Beach, CA, announced today that the company has been selected by the City of San Luis Obispo to develop, design and execute an integrated marketing campaign to promote the use of the City of San Luis Obispo’s SLO Happenings events program, mobile app and marketing efforts.

The SLO Happenings Events mobile app focuses on the City of SLO-specific events. Showcasing the variety and breadth of events within the city lets locals focus on favorites with category-specific content to learn about, personalize and share.

The Promotional Coordinating Committee (PCC) advises the San Luis Obispo City Council in working to improve the quality of life for all City residents and visitors. The committee recommends internal projects to help promote the City as a regional trade, recreation, and tourist center consistent with community goals. The PCC works collaboratively with the City’s Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) to ensure a unique San Luis Obispo experience for residents and visitors. Annually, the PCC advises Council on city grants to support the promotion of local cultural groups and activities. Events Promotion Outreach Services through the SLO Happenings brand and application to create awareness and provide information on events and activities happening in San Luis Obispo.

The prime goal of the Visit Cambria campaign stated Cohen; “was to create an extraordinary and engaging, integrated marketing campaign that provided a vibrant, rewarding and informative experience of Cambria’s unique destination and lodging offerings”.  The multi-channel marketing campaign included creative digital and social strategies, cutting-edge apps, targeted advertising and unique branding opportunities (including wrapping a bus for the Hearst Castle’s visitors center) that provided a multi-channel, information source for visitors. “These campaign strategies were not only influential in growing a high level of engagement and creating a sustained buzz about Cambria, they also contributed to increased occupancy rates measured by a 2.0% increase in the Transient Occupancy tax collection over the previous year”.

The San Luis Obispo County Tourism Business Improvement District (CBID) coordinated the formation of the Cambria Tourism Board in an effort to create and implement new marketing ideas with a goal of bringing visitors to Cambria and increasing TOT (Transient Occupancy Tax). The funds provided are to be used to promote the area and generate additional revenues as well as support community events related to tourism. The Cambria Tourism Board secured SOLVE Agency to develop a strategic digital and content strategy and marketing plan to help guide the efforts in a strategic and tactically successful manner.
